Kareena Kapoor’s first OTT film ‘Jaane Jaan’ to release on Sept.21

Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan’s digital debut film has been titled “Jaane Jaan” and will be released on September 21.  Alongside Kareena, it also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. The film, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, is adapted from “Devotion of Suspect X.”

The video takes you into the world of Jaane Jaan and showcases Sujoy Ghosh’s signature crime thriller directorial style that has Kareena in a whole new look, bare faced, striking and playing the role of a mother.  Jaideep whose look will make you do a double take and Vijay is playing the role of a handsome police officer.

The film is based in Kalimpong and is the official adaptation of the bestselling novel “Devotion of Suspect X” by Keigo Higashino.  Sujoy shared: “Jaane jaan is based on the book which has been the love of my life for a long long time. From the day I read “Devotion of Suspect X,” I wanted to adapt it into a film.    “It was the most amazing love story I had ever read and today thanks to Kareena, Jaideep and Vijay that story is alive on screen. We all worked very hard to tell this story and hopefully the audience will love it as much as we do.” The film will be streaming on Netflix on Sept.21.

Kareena will be seen in a gritty role, says after 23 years in Hindi cinema the digital debut feels like a new launch.  Kareena said: “I am excited to be coming on Netflix with a very special project . After 23 years, this feels like a new launch and I have the jitters of a new-comer! Audiences will see me in a role I have never played before, with a story that is so unique and thrilling.”

She said that the streaming giant has always showcased films from different parts of the world in the most authentic manner, backing artists who love what they do. Kareena made her acting debut in 2000 in “Refugee.” After which, she was seen in films such as  “Asoka” and “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”…,”Chameli,” “Omkara,” “Jab We Met,” “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu,” “Kurbaan,” “Talaash: The Answer Lies Within,” “Heroine,” “Udta Punjab,” “3 Idiots,” “Bodyguard,” “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” “Singham Returns,” “Veere Di Wedding” and “Good Newwz.”

Meanwhile, Kareena showered love on Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s son Vayu, as he turned one recently. Sonam and her businessman husband Anand welcomed their first child on Aug.20, 2022. Taking to Instagram Stories, Kareena shared a photo of her best friend Sonam with her son, wherein they can be seen sitting on a couch, and the actress is holding a balloon in one hand. Sonam shared Kareena’s post on her Instagram Stories. Sonam and Anand had tied the knot in 2018.  Noted for playing a variety of characters in a range of film genres—from romantic comedies to crime dramas— Kareena is the recipient of several awards, including six Filmfare Awards, and is one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses.
