Congratulations are in order for Pakistani actors Shamoon Abbasi and Sherry Shah, who recently announced that they have tied the knot, The Express Tribune reported on Friday.

The couple, which has worked on several projects together, took to social media and shared details about their hush-hush marriage.

Taking to Instagram, the Durj star revealed why the couple took four years to publicise their marriage and how married life is more fruitful.

"Getting married to someone in front of Allah's name is better than having girlfriends live with you and being called a stud," began Abbasi, adding that he's proud to have found peace in life. "Hence, I am proud to have married again because I always wanted a life that brought peace into my life, and I finally found that peace in her."

He then revealed that the two lovebirds actually got married four years ago. "The fact is that Sherry Shah and I got married four years ago and never shared the news on social media because of the toxicity of social media. Now that it's public, I would like to thank everyone by heart who sent their prayers for both of us after reading the post about our marriage."

The Durj star then concluded his post with a sarcastic comment on online trolls. He said, "I know many will want to joke and troll this news, but I think haters will hate, potatoes will potate and rotis will rotate, so it's all fine!"
Sherry Shah took to social media and shared a heartfelt note for her 'hubs' on his birthday, who turned 50 on April 4.

Sharing a picture of the two together, Sherry shared, "I appreciate so many things about you — your strength, your calmness, your character and integrity, your sense of humour, your way of seeing the beauty in the world and how fun you are to be with and how beautiful my life has become because of you."

She further added, "Thanks for being the best thing in my life, every hardship is a walk in the park when you are around. I feel so blessed to have you as my life partner. Thanks for existing. Happy birthday, hubs."

Abbasi shared a post on his birthday as well. However, it was about lessons he has learned in life so far. Sharing a throwback picture of himself, the actor shared, "On my 50th birthday, I have been asked how I feel today. I said our entire lives we struggle to achieve something and feel peaceful at the end of it. Alhamdulillah Allah has given me everything I dreamt of; lovely kids, a sweet loving partner, a home that is always filled with peace and joy, siblings that always respected and loved me unconditionally, a fulfilling career."

Their union would be the second marriage for Sherry and fourth for Abbasi, who was previously married to actors Javeria Abbasi and Humaima Malick.
