British singer Sarah Harding died on Sunday after her long battle with breast cancer.

Her mother Marie broke the sad news via a post on singer’s Instagram account on Sunday. “My beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed  away peacefully this morning,” wrote singer’s mother on Instagram.

Her mother wrote that Sarah fought so strongly from her diagnosis until her last day.

“I'd like to thank everyone for their kind support over the past year. It meant the world to Sarah and it gave her great strength and comfort to know she was loved," she wrote.

“I hope that my daughter will be remembered as the one who fought against this terrible disease and she was a bright shining star.”

Harding had announced in August last year that she had been diagnosed with the disease, which had spread to other parts of her body.
