Tearful Britney Spears pleads to court for freedom from her 13-year-old conservatorship

Pop star Britney Spears, who has been feeling controlled and abused in her conservatorship, turned to the court for help.

A tearful and vulnerable Britney, who was speaking to a court to appeal for freedom from her 13-year-old conservatorship, told the court how a few people planned to watch her lose her mind.

Her father, who was in control of most of the decisions Britney was making, was suffocating her to an extent that she was feeling abused.

Spears told the judge how the ruling was allowing her father Jamie Spears to literally ruin her life.

The 39-year-old pop singer took to her social media page to thank her fans and followers for their unconditional support, urging the court to consider her plea.

The singer's next hearing was set for Sept. 29.
