Economic incentives in Ajman to support private sector

The economic establishments in the Emirate of Ajman appreciated the diversity of incentives and facilitations provided for the private sector under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council.

They also commended the efforts of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) aimed to raise awareness of its members to take advantage of the exemptions and facilitations offered to them.

Dr. Rashid Muslim Al Riyami, founder and owner of Rashid Fitness Hall, commended the efforts and support of the leadership offered to the private sector establishments, especially those affected by the repercussions of COVID-19.

The packages of economic incentives translate the leadership’s keenness to support the private sector. He also pointed out that the packages of incentives at the local level have translated the government endeavors to support the private sector to ensure its sustainability and growth, as well as enhancing investors confidence.

For her part, Hala Afifi, Director of Cute Baby Nursery, explained that the quick response to launch the incentives and the multiplicity of support that were provided during the previous months had a positive impact on all establishments. She also stressed that rational dealing with the repercussions of the crisis reflected the safe and attractive environment for investment in the UAE.

Meanwhile, Wassim Mohammed Duqmaq, Director of Emad Lebanon Salon, said that the diversity of packages and facilitations spread a spirit of optimism among the establishments operating in the emirate. He further praised the Ajman Chamber’s follow-up and support to its members, noting that the gradual return to resume activities translated the strength of the co-operation between the government and private sectors in dealing with emergency.

Nasser Al Dhafari, Executive Director of the Communication and Members Support, called on all members of the Chamber to take advantage of the exemption from the delay charges of the membership renewal by applying for renewal before end of August 2020.

Al Dhafri stressed the Ajman Chamber’s endeavors to reinforce its communication with the members through various means, including field visits, Ajman Contact centre - 80070, the Chamber’s website, social media platforms and others.

He also pointed to assigning of a specialized team at the Ajman Chamber to follow-up the members and motivate them to benefit from the facilitations granted, in addition to monitoring the constructive proposals and ideas that feed into the growth and sustainability of the establishments operating in the emirate.

The third incentive package included exemption from the membership renewal fee and the delay charges of the membership renewal for the Ajman Chamber from 15th of June until the end of the current year, for Hajj and Umrah trips organizing firms, exhibitions management and organisation, social events halls, massage centers and gyms, nurseries, hairdressing and gents and ladies salons, children’s barbershops, amusement games, cinemas, sports amusement parks and electronic games halls.

Furthermore, the package included exemption of the hotel and tourist establishments in the emirate from the membership renewal fees for the same period, along with decrease of fees for certificates of origin by 25 per cent until end of the year.

Earlier Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Free Zone (AFZ), launched a strategic project to build a number of warehouses that serve an array of targeted sectors such as health, food and sustainable development.  The Dhs36 million green project with a total built-up area of 9,070 M2 will consist of 82 units and service blocks that can be used as showrooms, warehouses or industrial facilities.

 The size of the multipurpose units starts from 100 M2 and they can be used individually or by combining multiple units to form larger units, depending on the needs of investors or tenants.

Al Nuaimi emphasised that AFZ is constantly looking for ways and strategies to add further value to the emirate’s business environment, noting that the latest warehousing project will enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of AFZ as a destination for business and commercial and industrial activities.

He added that the project will also support environment protection initiatives and promote sustainable development by reducing electricity consumption and carbon emissions.
